Volunteer

Are you a leader, a thinker or a doer? Use your talents in our promise to save lives and end breast cancer forever!  We need you now more than ever. Volunteers provide countless hours contributing their skills to further the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® promise. We will work with your availability.  Every minute you spend helping gives another minute of hope to those affected by breast cancer. 

There are many opportunities throughout the year for volunteers to help out with individual events, merchandise sales and preparation activities.   Consider one of the following options:

Event-Specific Volunteers (small time commitment):
Held in September each year, our Race for the Cure events in Portland and Bangor are great options for people with limited time.  You can just volunteer on Race day or only in the weeks leading up to the Race.  All volunteers are valuable in pulling off these large events.  Signing up to volunteer for the Races is easy - for most positions, you can sign up online through our automated system, and receive important information and shift reminders right on your computer. 

Year Round Committee Volunteers:
The Maine Affiliate is busy year round with fundraising efforts as well as activities to carry out our mission, such as educational outreach and grant distribution.   Committee volunteers play a very important role in our success.   Time commitment varies by committee.
